  • Vision & Values

Our vision is to be the Sport Managers of choice for elite athletes and to provide fully comprehensive service with the highest level of professionalism, integrity, quality and results in the areas of career management and assistance, marketing, law, insurance, finance and wealth management.

  • History

JRS stands for Jakob Ragnar Söderberg, one of the founders of JRS Sports Management’s parent company, JRS Asset Management.

JRS Sports Management was established in 2010 when JRS Asset Management and sports agent Daniel
Wessfeldt decided to form a joint venture in order to create a fully comprehensive service concept for elite athletes.

The relationship with JRS Asset Management is strong and the close relationship provides access to a valuable network of advisers, consultants and other professional athletes. For more information about JRS Asset Management, Click here

Daniel Wessfeldt has a long background in sports, and began his career as a sports agent back in 1987. He first became interested in a career as a sports agent during his studies in Los Angeles, California. During his time in Los Angeles, Daniel developed a broad network within the sports world, a network that includes Carl Lewis and the Santa Monica Track Club. Another American athlete who became a valuable contact for Daniel in the US is the legendary Edwin Moses. Both Moses and Lewis have become frequent visitors to major Swedish sports events.
When Daniel returned to Sweden in 1987 he decided to become a professional sports agent and promoter. After seven years with Andersson & Wessfeldt AB, Daniel moved his business abroad. For the past decade he has run a successful business based in Monaco, where the IAAF (International Association of Athletics Federations) is also headquartered. Today, Daniel is CEO of JRS Sports Management, and retains his legal residence and office in Monaco.

As our client, you have the option of utilising our financial services to help you obtain a comprehensive approach to your finances and capital planning. Through JRS Asset Management, we offer consulting services in all aspects of wealth management, tax and legal advice, family law and insurance. We can also assist you with such simple tasks as paying bills and doing banking errands. As our client, you also have access to expert discretionary asset management and personal counselling. Our managers analyse the individual client’s wishes and special circumstances, and create a unique portfolio based on the client’s specific risk profile and investment horizon.

Discretionary asset management means that you as client delegate day-to-day management decisions to us – the manager is authorised to make regular reinvestments, within the boundaries that you have established together. The benefit of discretionary asset management is that you don’t need to take active part in managing your assets – your asset manager looks after your investments and can make rapid adjustments. Since we have a large share of international clients, our financial services are available on both the national and international levels, wherever the client is domiciled. Our goal is to relieve pressure on our clients and simplify their financial lives to the greatest possible extent.

  • Sports Management

JRS Sports Management has a strong track record when it comes to management and leadership – JRS Asset Management and its managers have extensive experience in financial services and asset management, and Daniel Wessfeldt has over 24 years’ experience in managing world-class athletes and is a bit of an industry pioneer.

JRS Sport Management represents over 30 elite athletes and works closely and actively with them to strengthen their personal brands and maximise their earning potential. We have specialised expertise in all aspects of career development – from contract negotiations to licensing and event co-ordination – all within the scope of sports management … and a little bit more.

  • Your career

Where will you be in your athletic career by this time next year? In 5 years? In 10 years? And do you know what you want to have achieved by the end of today?
If you want to succeed in your career, you need to set clear goals – these can be anything from performance goals to financial goals. Without goals, you have no focus in terms of what you need to achieve and no conception of the direction your athletic career will take. In order to plan your career and achieve your goals, you need to know how they should actually be defined … and that’s where we come into the picture.

Planning and working with strategic objectives is a process that begins with a thorough analysis of what you really want to achieve, and ends with several years of hard, dedicated work to get there. During the process, you gain greater awareness of your true potential and become more confident as you achieve your intermediate goals, one by one, and approach your ultimate goal.

  • Professional assistens

Our work varies from day to day, depending on client needs. But our focus is always on personal assistance. Some examples:

    • First-rate event co-ordination for individual athletes
    • Negotiation of seeding money for athletic event participation
    • Negotiating and drafting sponsorship agreements
    • Co-ordinating inquires from the mass media
    • Travel co-ordination and booking
    • Invoicing and managing accounts as regards prize money, seeding money and sponsorship agreements
    • Guidance to qualified medical experts
    • Comprehensive financial services
  • Career timing

Many athletes work to gain visibility in their field during the first phase of their career, a time when earning potential is not the most important consideration. As an athlete, you should begin establishing your brand during the second phase of your professional career, when effective management and marketing are crucial for optimising your earnings.

The third step is the high point of your professional career – your earning potential is probably greatest during this phase. Expert financial planning and management are decisive, since you are most likely preparing to bring your sports career to a close in the near future and are redirecting your focus to new goals and challenges.

You enter the fourth phase as you begin to wind down your sports career and look for new challenges. This may be a strategic choice on your part, or may be something more sudden precipitated by unexpected events. Whatever the reason, all athletes reach a point where they need to look for new challenges and a new career choice. Some athletes may simply want to retire and settle down. JRS Sports Management can also assist you during this phase. We have expertise within planning, career coaching, insurance, management and everything that is needed before, during and after your career as an elite athlete.
